As a Manager/Principal Advisor, Gordon has successfully set the strategic direction for significant operations across government, corporate entities of up to $15b AUS in value.

Secretary – John Pettit BSc(Security) MCrim MOccHlth&Saf, BSc(Security) MCrim MOccHlth&Saf

John Pettit is Secretary of the ASIS International Chapter. He established his forensic security practice in 2009 in order to provide legal practitioners and their clients with access to ‘admissible’ expert reports written by a tertiary qualified security professional that carry sufficient evidentiary ‘weight’. He pride’s himself in providing objective and impartial reports that are based on defendable opinions and empirical research.

He has been a security practitioner for over 25 years. As a mature aged student he attended Edith Cowan and Bond Universities where he read Security Science, Criminology and Occupational Health & Safety. He is also Board Certified in Security Management by ASIS International.
As an expert witness John specialises in the field of excessive use of force, armed robbery, third party criminal acts on licensed premises, negligent/inadequate workplace security and workplace injuries involving security officers.
He accepts briefs from legal practitioners from all over Australia and is happy to take calls for advice at no obligation from practice staff at any time.

Having joined ASIS International in 2005, Ray brings 20+ years of global security management experience to the role of Vice Chairperson and Membership Coordinator, ASIS International Queensland Chapter.

As Managing Director and Principal Consultant at Inverus Group Ray has a focus on risk, resilience and security related functions and disciplines. His diverse consulting background has seen him practice in geographies including Australia, the Middle East, Mexico, China, SE Asia, Singapore and Europe. Such opportunities (underpinned by rigorous professional development activities) has allowed Ray to develop a detailed understanding of the challenges business leaders, policy makers and industry professionals face when trying to mitigate risk and uncertainty.

Ray was awarded the 2020 Australian Security Medal (ASM) for his contribution to the profession and remains committed to motivating, mentoring and developing industry participants to enable growth and success at an individual, organisation and industry level.
